Montenegrin PM Igor Luksic and opposition parties will hold on Monday a new round of talks on the language taught in schools and the name of that subject. This was announced by President of the opposition Movement for Changes (PZP) Nebojsa Medojevic. New round of language talks in Montenegro He said that PZP will table the proposition that the school subject be called native language and literature. I expect that today we will reach final agreement, Medojevic said, stressing that PZP's proposition represents a compromise. He reiterated that reaching an agreement on the language in schools will open doors for the opposition to support the elections bill at the parliament's special session scheduled for Tuesday. The opposition earlier refused Luksic's proposal that the school subject be called Montenegrin / native language and literature, whereas the prime minister did not accept the opposition's initiative that the subject is named Montenegrin, Serbian / native language and literature. In order for the elections law to be adopted, which is the first condition of Brussels for Montenegro to get the date for negotiations on the their full EU membership, it needs to supported by the two-third majority in the parliament.
