Kosovo was recognized by 14 member states of the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM), a Kosovo Albanian official said. Ethnic Albanians in Kosovo unilaterally declared independence in February 2008, but Serbia rejected the proclamation as an illegal act of secession.
