Belgrade Kosovo talks team chief Borislav Stefanovic expects that the dialogue with the Kosovo Albanian representatives to resume in Brussels on September 5. The issue of customs stamps will be discussed at that meeting, said Stefanovic. Kosovo dialogue expected to continue on Sept. 5 He voiced his opinion that the dialogue should be continued with that topic, since that would significantly ease tensions at the administrative line. Stefanovic stated for Serbia's public broadcaster RTS that Serbia is still committed to the dialogue, since that is the only way to resolve the problems. He stressed that the issue of customs stamps and the issue of free flow of goods at the Jarinje administrative crossing are two separate topics. Stefanovic specified that Serbia cannot accept that the Kosovo customs authority be present at the checkpoints. Speaking of the Tuesday session of the municipal assemblies from the north of Kosovo-Metohija, Stefanovic voiced expectation that the members will reach the right decision, which would be in keeping with the state interest, as well as the interest of the people living in Kosovo-Metohija. “The unity should be preserved, and I am sure that the members of municipal assemblies will reach the right decision which would be in keeping with the state interest, as well as the interest of the people residing in Kosovo-Metohija,” Stefanovic said. He recalled that the shortcoming of the agreement with KFOR is that the goods weighing over 3.5 tonnes will enter the province with certain difficulty. According to Stefanovic, there is no deadline for barricade removal, so that should be done gradually. “I think that the lesson the Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija have learned during this crisis is that they should not drop their guard, that they should be ready and make sure these things do not happen again in the coming period,” Stefanovic said. The session of the members of four municipal assemblies from Kosovo-Metohija will commence at noon on Tuesday, during which they will discuss the interim agreement reached between the Serbian government and KFOR so as to settle the crisis in the northern part of the province.
