PM: No chance we'll lose next election

Serbia's Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković said on Tuesday he was certain the government coalition would win the next election and continue to lead Serbia.

Serbia's Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic said on Tuesday he was certain the government coalition would win the next election and continue to lead Serbia. "There is no chance we could lose the election. I think this coalition will be able to continue leading Serbia after the election," Cvetkovic told Tanjug. He explained that he based his on opinion on what the government had achieved so far, adding that the criticism coming from the opposition lacked foundation and offered no solutions. "Our biggest problems were in the economy, caused by the global economic crisis, and outside of that, I see no grounds for any form of serious criticism. New opportunities arise with the end of the crisis," Cvetkovic stressed. The government will soon recommend that state companies hire new management and get professionals for those top positions, the prime minister announced. That means the largest government companies, like Serbian Railways, power company EPS and others, will soon be inviting job applications for top positions, Cvetkovic remarked.
