Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez addressed thousands of his supporters in Caracas to say that he would "win his battle for life". Chavez, who underwent surgery in Cuba to remove a tumor, showed up on the balcony of the presidential palace. Venezuelan leader Chavez returns to country The president unexpectedly returned to the country on Monday. He thanked former Cuban leader Fidel Castro for helping him during the recovery period after his surgery. But international news agencies said that although Chavez "spoke in a strong voice", he appeared "thinner and more pale than usual". Chavez however announced that he was "feeling well" after the cancerous tumor was removed from his hip area.
