EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton commended Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels on Monday for reaching first concrete results. Tanjug news agency quoted her as saying that "in a dialogue no one loses and everyone wins". Ashton has working lunch with Thaci The agreements which were reached on Saturday are European solution for certain very difficult and important issues, Ashton said after a meeting with Kosovo Albanian Prime Minister Hashim Thaci. She commended the delegations of Belgrade and Pristina "for the leadership, courage and hard work that they have showed in the course of the dialogue". It was launched under the auspices of the EU on March 8. Ashton expressed expectation that the agreements will be put in practice in the shortest possible period, and that the dialogue will yield results in the fields that have not been discussed so far such as telecommunications, cadastres, customs seal and energy. Noting that dialogue is the basis of the EU, Thaci said that Pristina would "like to make the Balkans a part of Europe". He expressed expectation that the dialogue "will continued with the issues that are next to be tabled according to the agenda", and underlined that these were "technical issues which will improve lives of the citizens in the region".
