Borislav Stefanovic has stated that the Belgrade and Pristina delegations were "on the verge of finding a solution to the issue of license plates". The head of the Belgrade team in the ongoing Kosovo dialogue was reported as saying that the solution implies that drivers of vehicles with Kosovo plates "bearing the emblem of Kosovo" will not be able to drive in the rest of the Serbian territory. Kosovo license plates issue solution "at hand" "Right now, we can say with some degree of certainty that Serbian citizens from Kosovo-Metohija will not be able to travel around the rest of Serbia or cross the national border with passports of the so-called republic of Kosovo," Stefanovic told Tanjug. He was commenting on the Monday statement by head of Pristina's negotiating team Edita Tahiri for the Pristina-based daily Express, in which she said that a potential solution to the issue of license plates might be "tailored after the model used by Greece and Macedonia". "A final solution as regards license plates has not been reached yet in the dialogue with Pristina," Stefanovic said and expressed expectation that the matter, "which is on the verge of closing", would be resolved in Brussels early in July. "Everything else is speculation," he said and underscored that the aim of such rumors was to "influence the public in Pristina which is waiting for the outcome of the local interim institutions' efforts".
