A spokesperson for the EU foreign policy chief has said that "Kosovo and Serbia were very close to breakthroughs" in some issues negotiated with EU mediation. Jasna Kocijancic was referring to the ongoing Belgrade-Pristina dialogue when she told Germany's DPA news agency that the next round of talks would be late in June, but that the date had not been set. The Pristina-based newspapers further wrote on Monday that the Belgrade and Pristina delegations "negotiating technical issues" would not sign any deals on issues they agree on, "but that the signatory would be EU mediator Robert Cooper".
