Kosovo partition “would only work on map”

Ministry for Kosovo State Secretary Oliver Ivanovic says partition of Kosovo would be bad because survival of Serbs south of the Ibar River would be at risk. He said that partition of southern Serbian province would only solve the problem on a map. Kosovo partition “would only work on map” Serbs south of the Ibar River would be placed in a difficult position and their survival would be uncertain because there is a possibility that they would move away. Ivanovic visited the village of Osojane on Thursday and was told by the residents that they were worried about the partition ideas that have been brought up lately. “I am convinced that something like that is not going to happen for many reasons, among other things because Serbia needs to protect its full territorial integrity, meaning to keep Kosovo and Metohija within its structure as envisaged by the Constitution,” he explained. Ivanovic added that it was more than obvious that the international community would not change its position regarding Kosovo partition and that it had completely rejected such solution.
