Interior Minister Ivica Dacic and Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Baconschi signed an agreement on readmission in Bucharest on Wednesday This, said the Serbian Ministry of the Interior, represents one step further in Serbia’s EU integration. Dacic expressed during the meeting gratitude for the principled stance of Romanian officials regarding the preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia. He said that this is particularly true in the attitudes of Romanian officials towards proposals and initiatives aimed at imposing on Kosovo the status of an independent state. Hence the great importance of the refusal of Romanian President Basescu to participate in a regional meeting in Poland, where he was invited along with the so-called president of Kosovo, Dacic said. Dacic also attended in Timisoara the 24th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), where he stressed that the Black Sea region is one of the key Eurasian transportation and energy hubs, therefore its role is gaining importance in seeking specific reactions to the existing and future challenges.
