Ex-Yugoslav President Dobrica has assessed that “centuries-long antagonism” between Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo could only be solved with permanent partition. He also said that Slobodan Milosevic had never accepted such proposals from the U.S. Kosovo partition only solution, ex-Yugoslav president says “I have been talking and writing about Kosovo and Metohija in vain for 40 years now, proposing a democratic, just, compromise and permanent partition. This is the only way to overcome centuries-long antagonism between Albanians and Serbs,” Cosic explained. According to him, the partition would “stop the great Albanian expansion and create conditions for normal life of both peoples”. The former president has assessed that policy toward Kosovo needed to change in order to solve Kosovo issue which is long-lasting and dangerous. He said that he had talked to Milosevic about the Kosovo issue many times but that they never agreed on it. “First I told him about the U.S. proposal on partition of Kosovo according to which Serbia would get one third of Kosovo and Metohija but Milosevic did not give up on Serbian delusions until the Kumanovo capitulation in small world war against Serbia,” Cosic said. He said that he believed that Serbian state policy toward Kosovo had been wrong from Nikola Pasic to Boris Tadic and that Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) and patriotic elites had been participating in it. Cosic also said that the West’s policy toward Serbia still consisted of pressures and blackmails. According to him, the partition would “stop the great Albanian expansion and create conditions for normal life of both peoples”.

The former president has assessed that policy toward Kosovo needed to change in order to solve Kosovo issue which is long-lasting and dangerous.
