“PUPS considers coalition with SNS”

The Party of United Pensioners of Serbia (PUPS) is thinking about appearing solo in the next election, but is, PUPS official Momo Colakovic said Sunday. He added that the PUPS was not ruling out the possibility of cooperation with the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). “PUPS considers coalition with SNS” “Any party which shares the principles advocated by our party is a potential coalition partner, and the platform of (SNS leader) Tomislav Nikolic's party is close to PUPS,” he told Tanjug. "We would have no problem talking about it. But it is still early," he stressed, adding that talks with all potential partners would start closer to the election. Colakovic explained that priority would be given to talks inside the coalition made up of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), PUPS and United Serbia (JS) which he believed would start soon. "The party needs to assess how much support it enjoys among the 1.6 million pensioners, and whether its work has helped to improve their lives. If the party assesses it can cross the threshold, it would be best for it to appear independently," the PUPS official stressed. (pups.org.rs)
