Serbian IM Ivica Dacic says that Hague Tribunal Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz’s report is additional pressure on Serbia to arrest Hague fugitives. “Such approach is not a good one because we are doing everything necessary to arrest (Ratko) Mladic and (Goran) Hadzic and all other Hague fugitives arrested,” he told reporters in the Palace of Serbia. Brammertz report represents “additional pressure” In his latest report to the UN Security Council, Brammertz stated that Serbia was cooperating adequately with the Hague Tribunal when it came to providing support to ongoing proceedings, but he also said that despite the clearly demonstrated willingness, the country was not investing enough efforts in locating the remaining Hague fugitives. “Brammertz's report is important for some countries which have a say in the issue of Serbia's European integration and this is a problem,” Dacic stressed. He expressed hope that Brammertz's next report would be more favorable because Serbia and other countries believed that Serbia was doing all it can in the search for the Hague fugitives. Commenting on the accusation by members of Ratko Mladic's family that some EUR 14,000 were taken away from them during the last search of their house in 2010, the interior minister said that the police did what they were supposed to do and that this issue was now more of a matter for the court and the prosecution. He said that the money was confiscated on suspicion that it was intended for funding Mladic's hiding. Previously on Friday, Dacic, Geneva Centre for Democratic Supervision of Armed Forces Director Theodor Winkler and Swedish Ambassador Christer Asp signed two agreements and Memorandum on cooperation.
