Kosovo’s goal is membership in the UN, Kosovo Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj told UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. Hoxhaj and the UN head spoke in New York about possibilities of Kosovo joining international, political, financial, cultural and sports organizations. “Kosovo’s goal - UN membership” The Kosovo foreign minister pointed out that north Kosovo needed a rule of law and that parallel Serbian institutions were illegal. “Serbia’s parallel institutions, which are continuing their activities in some parts of Kosovo despite the Security Council’s decisions, are illegal,” he stressed at the meeting. The UN secretary general congratulated Hoxhaj on the progress that Kosovo had made in the last several years. “I support positive developments in Kosovo,” the Kosovo Foreign Ministry quoted Ban as saying.
