There has been a significant step forward for Libya’s rebel movement in its campaign for international recognition, euronews reported. British Prime Minister David Cameron has invited them to open an office in London – their first in a foreign country. I can today announce a package of measures to strengthen further our cooperation with the Council,” Cameron told reporters. Rebel leader Mustafa Abdul Jalil said his fighters needed more weapons as well as equipment. France, Italy, Qatar and Gambia have already acknowledged the NTC as the legitimate representative of the Libyan people. The UK move stops short of full diplomatic recognition.
