UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon forwarded to the UN Security Council Serbia's request for an investigation into the Kosovo human organ trafficking allegations. "I would like to use this opportunity to express my support to a thorough, unbiased and independent investigation into these serious allegations. The UN will offer its full support to such probe in case it takes place," reads the general secretary's letter to the chairman of the Security Council. Late last year, Special Rapporteur of the Council of Europe (CoE) Dick Marty published his report about the allegations, naming members of the ethnic Albanian KLA as perpetrators of the atrocities, and the province's civilians of Serb and other ethnicities as the victims.
