DSS, SNS “not negotiating joint action”

Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leaders have stated that the two parties are not negotiating joint action as opposition.

Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leaders have stated that the two parties are not negotiating joint action as opposition. SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic and DSS leader Vojislav Kostunica added, however, that they had common views on many issues. DSS, SNS “not negotiating joint action” Nikolic, who attended a DSS organized event to mark the party's patron saint's day, told reporters that the DSS and SNS had settled all their differences and agreed to avoid new ones in the future. "Time will tell if we are going to work together until the end," he noted, adding that the parties had the same goals, which were to have an early parliamentary election and to prevent the sale of Telekom. The SNS leader denied discussing closer cooperation with Kostunica. In a separate statement for the press, the DSS leader said it was positive that the DSS and SNS had begun discussing everything openly. According to him, the parties agree on many issues and disagree on many others, but they are trying to find out the level of disagreement between them.

Nikolić, who attended a DSS organized event to mark the party's patron saint's day, told reporters that the DSS and SNS had settled all their differences and agreed to avoid new ones in the future.
