Hague prosecutor on visit to Bosnia

Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency members Nebojsa Radmanovic and Bakir Izetbegovic conferred in Sarajevo on Monday with Chief Hague Prosecutor Serge Brammertz. One of the issues discussed at the meeting was the work of the Hague, and the cooperation between Bosnia and Hague in particular. Hague prosecutor on visit to Bosnia Radmanovic and Izetbegovic assessed that the cooperation between Bosnia and Hague is good, adding that it needs to be continued. They pointed out that they fully support the Tribunal's work. Brammertz confirmed that the Hague has a positive cooperation with Bosnia and expressed hope that such cooperation will maintain. The Bosnia liaison offices for cooperation with the Hague respond to all requests made by the Prosecution, Brammertz said, adding that Bosnia's challenge is no longer the cooperation with the Hague, but rather the internal cooperation and cooperation with the neighboring countries in the solving of war crimes. Brammertz stressed that the Tribunal considers the arrest of Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic as a very important issue. Brammertz is visiting the region in the scope of preparation of the regular semi-annual report of the UN Security Council, which he will present in New York in June, and in which he will give a new assessment on the cooperation of the regional countries with the Hague.
