Opposition party to sue prime minister

The opposition Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) will file charges in over 100 municipalities against Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković, it has been announced.

The opposition Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) will file charges in over 100 municipalities against Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, it has been announced. Former Finance Minister Diana Dragutinovic will also be named in the lawsuit. Opposition party to sue prime minister The party accused both of violating the law on local government financing and abuse of office. DSS official Marko Milutinovic told a news conference that Cvetkovic and Dragutinovic broke the law by creating the 2009, 2010 and 2011 budget. According to Milutinovic, the actions of Cvetkovic and Dragutinovic actions will cause local governments to lose around EUR 500mn in 2011. "This is the DSS way of marking 1,000 days in office of the current government," Milutinovic explained.
