FM Vuk Jeremic says Serbia's "resolute policy on Kosovo" prevents the possibility of that subject being included on the list of EU accession requirements. The country's policy, he said, blocks the possibility of some EU member country including the recognition of Kosovo on that list. "Resolute policy keeps EU from demanding Kosovo recognition" "If we were less active and determined in regard to our policy on Kosovo, the pressure of those fighting for the recognition of Kosovo's independence would start an avalanche which would lead Kosovo into all international institutions, save the UN," Jeremic said in Belgrade on Tuesday. He was briefing parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs after presenting his ministry's report, and responding to questions from MPs. "We know that one country can stand in our way in the process of European integration," he was reported as saying. Jeremic added that "what the Netherlands is doing in relation to Serbia's cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, another EU member country could do with Kosovo".
