This was announced by Spokesman for the Prosecutor's Office Tomo Zoric. Prosecution: Anti-African slur no crime He specified that the office decided to assume such a stand after revising and analyzing the political statement and appearance of the LDP leader before the Serbian parliament, having taken into account all the circumstances under which the said statement was made. On March 22, Jovanovic posed a question to Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic in parliament, criticizing the government stance on the Libyan crisis, and at the same time accusing the minister of "traveling to cannibals in Africa". This prompted African and Arab states to send a strongly-worded collective demarche to Belgrade. Jovanovic then expressed regret that his words offended Arab and African nations. “I extend my apology to all the sides that consider themselves insulted,” Jovanovic was quoted as saying by Tanjug news agency. Vuk Jeremic apologized for the incident and condemned it.
