President Boris Tadic urged "people in regional countries where census is held to freely express their ethnic, linguistic and religious affiliation". In today's world, every person has the right to freely express their identity, their right to their own language and alphabet and their culture, Tadic said, according to his office. Tadic: Freely express your identity He expressed his conviction that the values of European civilization will be respected this time too, he said. All countries in the region are signatories to the relevant charters and conventions of the Council of Europe to protect those rights, he noted.
