Serbia’s European path is not jeopardizing our relations with Russia, Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said commenting on Russian PM Vladimir Putin’s visit. “Prime Minister Putin has stated that Russia supports us absolutely in everything that we decide that is the right path for us,” he pointed out. “Russia not interfering with Serbia’s EU path” The Serbian foreign minister added there were only few countries in the world that offered such support to Serbia. “This is exactly how Russia supports us, both economically and regarding Kosovo, but also in the field of European integrations,” Jeremic pointed out. According to him, the issue of Serbia's NATO accession is not being discussed. “It is not (discussed) among the political elite in the country so there was no need to talk about it with the Russian prime minister,” the foreign minister stressed. In his opinion, “this country has a very clear policy when it comes to Euro-Atlantic integration”. “We are military neutral and this neutrality is strict and institutionally confirmed,” Jeremic stated and added that no political leader had an intention to change that. As for Kosovo, the Serbian foreign minister has advocated a general political consensus that Serbia will never recognize Kosovo’s unilaterally declared independence. Vuk Jeremic (Tanjug)
