Serbian President Boris Tadic conferred with President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek on the margins of the three-day Brussels Forum on Saturday. The president previously held a meeting with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton. Serbian president, EP president meet Tadic discussed with European officials the efforts that Serbia was making in order to obtain the EU candidate status and begin negotiations on EU accession, as well as the issue of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, the second round of which is scheduled to take place in Brussels Monday. The Serbian president began a series of meetings with the EU officials by conferring Friday with European Council President Herman Van Rompuy, and he also to meet EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule during the day. On Sunday, the Serbian president will participate in a panel discussion dedicated to the Western Balkans, at which Montenegrin Prime Minister Igor Luksic and EU representatives will talk about regional integration. The Brussels Forum, organized by the NGO German Marshall Fund, gathers each year a large number of high officials from around the world, and this year it is being held for the sixth time, on March 25-27.
