DS willing to talk, but "won't accept ultimatums" "We are open to all inter-party dialogue which can lead to solutions and answers to the problems of our state and society," Trivan told Tanjug, adding that "in democratic societies, it is dialogue and not blackmail that brings solutions". The deadline which SNS give the DS to commit to early elections after Serbia gets EU candidate status expired at midnight on Monday. SNS said it would hold a rally in Belgrade on April 16 if DS did not agree. SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic said that on that day, the supporters of his party will stay in the streets for as long as it takes Serbian President Boris Tadic to come out and announce an early election. "Even in the past, DS did not respond to ultimatums, whoever they came from, respecting its own dignity, the democratic order, and institutions," Trivan claimed. In return for early elections - with regular voting due in the spring of 2012 - SNS "promised that they would not interfere with the government full filling its EU agenda". Deputy SNS leader Aleksandar Vucic told B92 on Tuesday in Belgrade that the party will now proceed with preparations for its "great people's rally", scheduled for April 16.
