Serbian President Boris Tadic says he expects the newly reshuffled government to be "much more efficient and work as a team". The Serbian parliament elected the new cabinet headed by PM Mirko Cvetkovic late on Monday in Belgrade. President expects "more efficient" government Tadic commented on Tuesday by saying that he expects the government will now "offer more concrete solutions to economic problems". "I believe that both the prime minister and the ministers have realized the serious situation that our economy is in, and at the same time how poor the standard of living is in the country," Tadic stated, according to his press service. "In that context my messages is that they must be solving problems of people faster, because they will submit results at the end of the mandate and answer for their work exclusively to the citizens of Serbia." Tadic also said he and other leaders of the ruling coalition parties will "do their best and put state interests and the citizens first", as well as "influence their ministers to refrain from fulfilling narrowly partisan interests". "You received this opportunity to do something for your country and the citizens, not for your party, or yourselves. I expect you will act in a fair manner and in line with that," Tadic stated, addressing the reshuffled cabinet. Boris Tadic (FoNet, file)
