Kosovo Minister Goran Bogdanovic says the budget money set aside for Kosovo is being spent in a transparent manner and in legally. The public occasionally wonders where the money set aside for Kosovo goes and a website was launched recently under the name "How much does Kosovo cost", while a counter on its pages shows a figure close to EUR 6bn. Minister: Kosovo funds in line with law The launching of the website prompted Bogdanovic to say that investment of the Serbian state in Kosovo was in line with the law, and under full control, unlike in the previous period. "Tenders are mandatory. We have brought down the price of construction. Square meter no longer costs a thousand, 1,500 or 700-800 euros down there. It means that construction of apartments, houses, kindergartens now costs about EUR 300 (per sq meter). Even the price of labor is much lower than here in central Serbia," he said. "This data is accessible, it exists and can be checked at any moment. Investments into the area of Kosovo and Metohija amount to a little under EUR 250mn annually, and that includes salaries, pensions, welfare and capital investments," concluded Bogdanovic.
