Serbian President Boris Tadic offered his condolences to Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan, following the devastating earthquake and tsunami. "Please accept my sincere condolences, and convey to the families of the victims and the people of Japan that the Serbian citizens sympathize with them in this difficult moment," Tadic, who today returned from his official visit to Japan, wrote in his message. Tadic sends condolences after Japan quake So far there have been no reports of any Serbian citizens being among the victims of the earthquake and tsunami which hit Japan on Friday, Tanjug was told at the Serbian embassy in Tokyo. Several dozen Serbs live in Japan, and many of them contacted the embassy to say they were not hurt, while the Japanese police and Foreign Ministry are in touch with the embassy and will forward any information that could be relevant to Serbian citizens, said the embassy. The embassy set up a hotline for Serbian citizens in Japan, but phone services are down in some parts of the country due to the earthquake. All embassy employees are fine and the building suffered some damage, but there is no exact estimate at this time, Tanjug learned.
