Committee to monitor fake asylum seekers situation

The Serbian government formed a committee for monitoring the implementation of the non-visa regime with the European Union (EU). This is according to the new edition of the Official Gazette. Committee to monitor fake asylum seekers situation The task of the committee will be to discuss issues related to the increasing number of false asylum-seekers from Serbia to EU countries and to put forth proposals to the government for reviewing and adopting decisions related to measures for reducing the number of applications filed by false asylum-seekers. The head of the committee, who will have a two-year mandate, will be Nenad Banovic of the Serbian Interior Ministry. The committee can form expert teams and hire prominent specialists in the field, while the Interior Ministry will provide expert, administrative and technical assistance. The committee must to file reports to the competent government board every 60 days, while it should report to the government at least every 90 days.
