Prime minister to take over finance ministry

The Serbian cabinet will comprise 21 members and 17 ministries after a reshuffle, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic announced late on Sunday. On Monday the cabinet will forward to parliament a bill on the ministries and bill on amendments to the law on government. Prime minister to take over finance ministry Speaking for TV B92, Cvetkovic would not reveal the names of those who would leave his cabinet, saying "they were not all yet agreed upon". But he did say that in the future he would take over as finance minister, instead of Diana Dragutinovic. "The number was reduced not because of the ministers's poor performance, but rather to make the government more efficient," Cvetkovic said. He added that the government will soon present its rules of procedure, which will enable its better performance. The reshuffled government will consist of the ministries of foreign affairs, defense, interior, finance, justice and the ministry of agriculture, trade, forestry and water management. The cabinet will also include the ministry of economy and regional development, the infrastructure and energy ministry, the ministry of public administration, local self-government and human and minority rights, the education and science ministry, the youth and sport ministry and the ministries of health and labor and social policy. also in the government will be the ministry of environment, mining and spatial planning, the culture, information and it ministry, the ministry for Kosovo and Metohija and the ministry of religion and the diaspora.
