The Kosovo government still has not presented a platform for the forthcoming dialogue with Belgrade. This is why it will ask from the Kosovo parliament on Monday to be allowed to begin the dialog on Tuesday without first presenting its strategy, the media from Kosovo reported Saturday. “Pristina still without talks platform” Currently, the only official platforms for the discussions are those proposed by EU mediator Robert Cooper and the platform of the Serbian negotiating team, which is headed by Borko Stefanovic. Aside from not having presented a strategy, the Kosovo government has not yet even announced any members of its negotiating delegation. It is only certain that the leader of the negotiating team is Edita Tahiri. Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci has promised that the delegation will include representatives of the opposition and non-governmental organizations. A few days before the long-awaited dialogue with Belgrade, Kosovo diplomats went on a political visit to the U.S. Kosovo's Deputy Foreign Minister Edita Tahiri, as well as Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj went to Washington on Thursday. Pristina-based Albanian language daily Koha Ditore has learned that they should meet with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg in Washington to talk about the dialogue with Belgrade.
