Visa liberalization control "looks promising" European ministers of interior and justice will meet on Thursday in Brussels to hear a first report on how the mechanism for the control of visa liberalization is functioning. The report will be presented by European Commissioner for Home Affairs Cecilia Malmstrom. According to EU officials, the French-Dutch proposal for introducing a special mechanism for temporarily re-introducing visas to some Western Balkan countries in case of an emergency will not be on the agenda, as this proposal is currently being considered by the European Commission which will decide when and how it will react. The main topic of the session will the situation in northern Africa.
