PM Mirko Cvetkovic has officially filed his request to parliament for the dismissal of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Mladjan Dinkic. The motion will probably be included in the agenda for the parliament sitting scheduled for February 20, head of the government Office for Cooperation with the Media Milivoje Mihajlovic stated on Tuesday. PM sends Dinkic dismissal request to MPs Cvetkovic filed the request on Monday, asking MPs to "review the Dinkic case" Mihajlovic told state broadcaster RTS on Tuesday morning, and announced that the Ministry of Finance will send a proposal to the government, suggesting that State Secretary for Finance Slobodan Ilic should be dismissed as well. Mihajlovic said that prime minister's decision regarding the initiation of dismissal proceedings against deputy prime minister constitutes a forced move. This is not an anxious reaction, but a decision adopted with the support of the Democratic Party, the core of the government coalition, Mihajlovic said. He added that this decision came as an 'electroshock' and a step that would restore the government to its normal track which is beneficial to Serbia, as G17 Plus has also realized and decided to remain in the government. Mihajlovic said that the government needs unity and that it would be unwise to even try to topple the government at a moment when the country is yet to take serious steps in the process of its European integration and start a dialogue on the Kosovo issue.
