Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Cedomir Jovanovic has stated that holding of early parliamentary elections is a solution for the problems in the society. He told B92 that this would not be a solution if the purpose of the elections was “only a new coalition” but that it was a solution for “lack of ideas in the government”. “Elections solution for problems” “The way out is a clear plan that we will get an answer to in the elections. I expect that people will finally start thinking with their heads instead of their stomachs,” the LDP leader pointed out. He stated that there was a “political insolence” in G17 Plus leader Mladjan Dinkic’s ambitions regarding the changes in the government, which, as he said, created the crisis in Serbia. “Both the government and the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) are crisis generators in the society. The truth is that only a part of the opposition, consisted of (SNS leader Tomislav) Nikolic, is more meaningless that the government. What’s bad in the government in which Dinkic is requesting changes? Well, Dinkic is bad. The thing he is doing is a simple political pretending,” Jovanovic stressed. “We’ve said what we want to do – to privatize public companies, redefine policy regarding Kosovo, change policy toward the region. I think that the Democratic Party needs to say what it wants before the elections,” he said. The LDP leader also said that people should be motivated to return to politics because, as he said, there were no innocent ones in the political scene. He explained that a normal coalition for his party would be the one with the DS and that there was a big difference between the LDP and the SNS because his party did not need to be in power. “I see (DS leader and President Boris) Tadic’s mistake in the fact that he agrees to be everything, the minister, the prime minister and the president… I think he has a duty to address the country’s citizens because we as a society have the right to know what is going to happen to us tomorrow,” Jovanovic concluded.
