President Boris Tadic and representatives of Serb organizations from the region me on Tuesday in Belgrade. They agreed that Serbs in the region must enjoy the same level of protection of their rights as ethnic minorities in Serbia. Tadic meets with Serbs from region The talk focused on the importance of fostering and protection of the rights of Serbs in the region's countries, and on Serbia's firm commitment to the policy of good-neighborly relations and regional cooperation, the Serbian president's press office said. The meeting focused on the recently adopted strategy for the fostering and enhancement of the relations between Serbia and its diaspora and Serbs in the region, and an analysis of the situation in those countries in the expectation of the population censuses. Population censuses are to be held this year in Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia, Albania, Montenegro, Hungary and Romania. The meeting was attended by representatives of Serb organizations from Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Slovenia, Albania, Montenegro, Hungary and Romania, and Serbian Minister for the Diaspora Srdjan Sreckovic. Serbs from Croatia were represented by President of the Independent Democratic Serb Party Vojislav Stanimirovic and by President of the Vukovar Joint Council of Municipalities Dragan Crnogorac. Serbs from Montenegro were represented by Vice-President of the Socialist People's Party Radoman Gogic, Vice-President of the New Serb Democracy Goran Danilovic, President of the Democratic Serb Party Ranko Kadic, President of the People's Party Predrag Popovic, and Zoran Zizic and Vladimir Bozovic of the Serb Cultural Society in Montenegro. Tadić meets with Serbs from region

The talk focused on the importance of fostering and protection of the rights of Serbs in the region's countries, and on Serbia's firm commitment to the policy of good-neighborly relations and regional cooperation, the Serbian president's press office said.
