The Croatian Foreign Ministry said a package was delivered to the country's embassy in Berlin containing an M75 hand grenade "with fuse and safety lever". The package arrived on Monday along with a threatening letter, reports Beta news agency. The responsible service of the German Interior Ministry was notified right away, and a detailed examination established that the package contained the grenade, subsequently removed from the embassy. "An investigation to find the sender and reasons for sending the threatening package is ongoing," the Croatian ministry stated. Some Croatian media speculated the threatening letter targeted Croatian President Ivo Josipovic, due to arrive in Germany for a visit on Jan. 19. Nova TV reported that the letter cited Josipovic's close relationship with his Serbian counterpart Boris Tadic as the reason behind the threats.
