Serbia must facilitate "bureaucratic procedures" and create an environment favorable for business activities in order to attract foreign investments. This is according to Secretary-General of the International Organization of Employers (IOE) within the UN Antonio Penalosa, who spoke for B92 in Belgrade on Tuesday. Serbia advised to cut red tape Penalosa stated attracting foreign investments requires a good atmosphere and clear private property and fiscal policies. He stressed that Serbia has been through a difficult period in the past ten years and that now, when most problems have been surmounted, the world wants to make use of the knowledge and opportunities that exist in the country, adding that the Serbian government needs to create conditions to attract capital. Speaking about the problems in holding a social dialogue in Serbia, Penalosa said that the precondition for a real social dialogue is to determine the criteria which would establish who are the representatives of both employers and employees.
