Kosovo is due to take over the presidency of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA), but it is still uncertain whether this would happen at all. Pristina-based media reported on Wednesday that Kosovo’s CEFTA presidency was uncertain taking into account constant political frictions between Belgrade and Pristina. Kosovo’s CEFTA presidency uncertain Serbia chaired the CEFTA in 2010, and Kosovo should have taken over the presidency as of January 1, Pristina's media noted. If Kosovo takes over the presidency, its representatives will be able to attend the CEFTA meetings on condition that they do not bear the symbols of Kosovo, and that the meetings be held in the EU headquarters. According to Kosovo's media, the transfer of presidency has not happened yet, and it is still uncertain whether the authorities in Pristina would take it over, or Albania, which is next in line. The representatives of Kosovo's Trade and Industry Ministry say that all the necessary preparations for Kosovo's presidency have been carried out.

Kosovo’s CEFTA presidency uncertain

Serbia chaired the CEFTA in 2010, and Kosovo should have taken over the presidency as of January 1, Priština's media noted.
