Thaci party victory confirmed

The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) headed by Hahim Thaci won 33.5 percent of the vote in the Kosovo election.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) headed by Hahim Thaci won 33.5 percent of the vote in the Kosovo election. Among Serb parties the Independent Liberal Party (SLS) had the best result, the Kosovo Central Election Commission (CEC) stated on Monday evening based on the preliminary results. Thaci party victory confirmed CEC President Valjdete Daka stated that according to 99 percent of the ballots, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) is on the second place with 23.6 percent of thevote and then followed by Self-Determination Movement (12.2 percent) and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (10.8 percent). As for the Serb parties, the majority of the vote was won by the SLS - 12,525. The overall turnout in the Sunday elections was 712,526.
