Serbian Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac told Tanjug on Saturday that Serbia was not militarily threatened. He pointed out, however, that there was a latent possibility of security threats coming from individuals from Kosovo. Defense minister: Serbia isn’t threatened He reiterated that Serbia had the help of KFOR and EULEX peacekeeping missions in the territory of Kosovo, adding that this year was much better than 2009 when it came to security. The defense minister pointed out that the Serbian government had a very good cooperation with the members of KFOR, stressing that the Serbian Army (VS) chief of the general staff and KFOR commander had meetings on a regular basis. Sutanovac said that the trust between the VS and KFOR, which was violated after NATO's decision to form and train the so-called Kosovo Security Force, had been restored. “We have contacts on a daily basis, which I believe is extremely important from the security aspect, primarily for the non-Albanian population,” the minister underscored. He also stressed that participation in peacekeeping missions was extremely politically important, as this showed that Serbia wanted to be a part of the contemporary world which was concerned about the security outside of its borders as well. According to him, Serbia experienced a certain halt in cooperation within the Partnership for Peace, whereas in 2011 the country should grasp all opportunities. Pointing out that since January 1, 2011, the VS will officially be professional, Sutanovac said that special attention would be paid to the training of professionals. Dragan Sutanovac
