Celebrations as Serbia lift Davis Cup trophy

Several thousand Belgraders, mostly young people, have takento the streets this evening after Serbia won in the Davis Cup final. Belgraders have started a "victory walk", chanting and celebrating in the wake of the 3-2 victory over France. Celebrations as Serbia lift Davis Cup trophy Police shortly stopped traffic in Kralja Milana St. to let the line of people, and also cars waving Serbian flags, pass. The participants, who started from Republic Sq., and said they had no planned itinerary, chanted the names of Serbian tennis stars who brought the Davis Cup victory to the country, and also shouted, "Kosovo is the heart of Serbia". No incidents were reported as sirens and loud firecrackers were heard in downtown Belgrade this evening. (Beta)
