Kosovo negotiations should be swift and honest, and the “wrong state strategy towards Kosovo shouldn't repeat,“ believes Vuk Draskovic. The leader of the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) party said in an interview on Friday. "Swift and honest Kosovo negotiations" “As a country, we are in peril if we allow the 'professional' Serbs to do their experiments again and bring things back to the beginning,“ said Draskovic told Beta news agency. He added that he listened to the announcement about Belgrade-Pristina negotiations “with unease”, because they created an impression that someone planned to present them as “the first dialogue and the first negotiations, which would end with talks about the Kosovo status.” “That’s extremely dangerous. I believe that the negotiations must be swift and honest,” said Draskovic, pointing out that everything agreed upon between Belgrade and Pristina should have “the stamp and guaranties of the EU.” According to him, Serbia should “conditionally adopt” the so-called non-statutory part of the Martti Ahtisaari plan, but it should request that it be reinforced in some segments with solutions from the Z-4 plan,” which was offered before to Serbs in Croatia.
