Mayer expressed hope that the MPs would make a unanimous decision to ratify the SAA. The SAA has so far been ratified by Spain, Malta, Bulgaria, Italy, Estonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Luxemburg and Hungary. All 27 EU member states must ratify the SAA in order for it to come into effect.
