Chief Mufti of the Islamic Community in Serbia Muamer Zukorlic claims that his life is “very threatened“, bearing in mind several attempts to assassinate him. He added that this was the reason why he traveled in a convoy of several cars. Zukorlic points out that he did not watch basketball match between Serbia and Turkey at the World Championships in Istanbul, but that he said on purpose that he cheered for Turkey because he does not want to succumb to a “permanent pressure“. “Frankly, I didn't watch the game, but I simply didn't want to succumb to that permanent pressure to train Bosniaks in Serbia that we should love Belgrade best,“ the mufti pointed out. He said that Bosniaks in Serbia were expected to say all the time that they loved Belgrade the most and that even “after 11 genocides we are supposed to say that we love them“. The mufti told Bosnian TV BIH that the autonomy of Sandžak was nothing new and that the word itself was “purposely satanized by Belgrade“ and that it was necessarily accompanied by ideas about change of borders.

Zukorlić points out that he did not watch basketball match between Serbia and Turkey at the World Championships in Istanbul, but that he said on purpose that he cheered for Turkey because he does not want to succumb to a “permanent pressure“.
