Wolfram Maas says that Serbia is on a path to become a good partner in the EU and that Germany will continue to support it in transition and EU integrations. German Ambassador Wolfram Maas pointed out that post-unification Germany and Serbia had many things in common. Ambassador: Germany supports Serbia “Serbia is in a process of transition and on a path to become a good partner in the EU. On this day we are renewing our promise that we will continue to do the same as in the past ten years and that we will continue to support Serbia in the future as well,” Maas stressed. He expressed hope that past years would be remembered as a period during which the two countries had adopted new orientations and had had a successful cooperation. The German ambassador also points out that problems were not erased after the unification of Germany and that enormous financial means were spent during transition. He also noted that countries in East and Southeast Europe, which were currently going through transition, had much less financial aid at their disposal. Maas especially pointed out Germany’s efforts to justify the confidence reposed in it after the unification by “committing to further enlargement and development of Europe without delay”.
