KFOR commander Erhard Buehler said that area surrounding the monastery and a road to Pec would be secured. KFOR: All precautions taken “I expect Sunday to go peacefully,” the KFOR commander explained. He also pointed out that today was “an important event for the SPC, but also for Kosovo” and that he had had meetings with Kosovo police (KPS) and EULEX as a part of the preparations for the enthronement. KPS have confirmed that they, together with KFOR and EULEX, “took all measures to provide safety although they did not receive any request for escort or to provide safety to Serbian high officials”. “As far as the Serbian officials are concerned, KFOR and EULEX will be responsible for their safety,” KPS Spokesman Brahim Sadriu announced. He also added that, according to KPS assessments, up to 10,000 citizens were expected to attend the ceremony and that most of them would enter Kosovo at Jarinje administrative crossing. “All citizens will be escorted by Kosovo police to the Pec Patriarchate,” Sadriu stressed.
