Interior Minister and Deputy PM Ivica Dacic said today in Belgrade that Serbia's ruling coalition has not yet discussed its Kosovo talks platform. Dacic said that this will be subject to discussion, and added that the platform will not be "much different compared to Serbia's previous positions". "Ruling coalition yet to consult on platform" "Serbia certainly cannot recognize independence of Kosovo and Metohija in any talks, and certainly Serbia thinks that there should be talks on all things that concern people's lives," he was quoted. According to Dacic these issues are also closely related to the issue of the status of the southern Serbian province. Dacic, who is at the helm of the Socialists (SPS), stated that the SPS-PUPS-JS coalition, a part of the ruling coalition, is compact and that he doubts that it would be “profitable” for any of its members to make experiments. Dacic told journalists in parliament today that SPS is not forcing anyone to be in coalition with them, and added that there have been no talks between the coalition partners as to how they would act in the future elections. “Each party should decide individually upon its future moves, but up till now we have not discussed whether someone will run separately or form a coalition with someone else,” Dacic said commenting on the statement by Milan Krkobabic that PUPS is ready to act separately in the forthcoming parliamentary elections. Dacic added that a lot of time, effort, patience and mutual work have been invested in that coalition and therefore he doubts that it would be profitable for any of its members to make experiments.
