President: Infrastructure, new jobs priority

President Boris Tadić said in Estonia that his political priorities included modernizing Serbia's infrastructure and creating new jobs.

President Boris Tadic said in Estonia that his political priorities included modernizing Serbia's infrastructure and creating new jobs. He also said that another goal of his is to put an end to historic conflicts in the region. President: Infrastructure, new jobs priority "EU membership will come as a result of that," said Tadic, who met with Estonia's Prime Minister Andrus Ansip in Tallinn on Tuesday. Tadic also met with Estonian Parliament Speaker Ene Ergma. The first day of his visit to Tallinn, Tadic had two meetings with President Toomas Hendrik Ilves. The Estonian president offered to share his country's experience in EU integration once Serbia enters the negotiations regarding its EU membership. Serbia will continue conducting its reforms and working towards EU membership and a stable environment in the region and in Europe, Tadic noted. "Today, Serbia is building its infrastructure, cutting the costs of and creating a more disciplined administration and establishing a strong banking sector. Our macroeconomic policy is very strict, and we wish to be the best example in that field when it comes to southeastern Europe," Tadic stated.
