Serbia's Damjan Tatić was elected Wednesday to the UN expert body monitoring the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Serbia's Damjan Tatic was elected Wednesday to the UN expert body monitoring the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. At a meeting of the Convention contracting states, which are 89 at present, Tatic was elected to the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities with another 11 experts, as one of 23 candidates. Serbian candidate joins UN committee Tatic joins this 18-member body with the experience he acquired in drafting of the Convention, which was adopted in 2006. Serbia ratified the Convention in 2009.
