Islamic community protest postponed again The teachers are, however, calling for Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic to reverse the decision remove Mevlud Dudic from the Commission for Religious Studies. Dudic, who supports this Islamic community, was replaced by Adem Zilkic, the leader of the Islamic Community of Serbia. According to a statement, the demand of the religious teachers is to “protect the rights of the teachers of Islamic religion from the self-will of individual school directors and officials of the ministries of religion and education.” Islamic Community in Serbia officials stated that they have received information that Brussels has sent warnings to the government regarding its irresponsible behavior toward the Sandzak region and ethnic and religious discrimination towards Bosniak Muslims. They also want Cvetkovic to solve all open questions through direct talks. The counter-rally scheduled by their rival Islamic Community of Serbia will also likely be be postponed, said reports today. The original rallies were to be held on Tuesday, but were canceled on Wednesday. Education Minister Zarko Obradovic told B92 that too much attention is being placed on this issue. “The ministry of religion proposed the members in the Commission for Religious Issues. Colleagues from that ministry informed me that there were situations in which officials of the two religious communities come to the meetings, and then one of left because they did not wish to work in the presence of the other. It was absolutely logical that there would be a change in the ranks of the commission in order to have people who want to work be a part of it,” he said. “As far as I know there are religious teachers from both (Islamic) communities on the list, and both communities know this as well,” Obradovic said, adding that this was "not just a question related to education, but to other issues as well". Kako navode, IZuS je dobila informaciju da je Vlada Srbije ostro upozorena iz Brisela na neodgovoran odnos prema Sandzaku i diskriminaciju po etnickoj i verskoj osnovi prema muslilmanima Bosnjacima.
